Hey everyone, get ready for another installment from paradise! This one was a series of celebrations, questionable movie choices, and potential real estate ventures. Ready to hear all about it?

The week kicked off with a bang, celebrating International Women’s Day at Saba. Think brunch, but with extra fabulousness: a DJ, door prizes, and enough goodie bags to make your inner child squeal. After the festivities, I dragged Samantha to admire Daphne Cottage from the outside. Her excitement was palpable, and it made me even more eager to move in! The rest of the day was spent in blissful relaxation, including a much-needed afternoon nap.

Monday was surprisingly chill at work, although I was definitely feeling the effects of losing an hour to Daylight Savings. A work hour, that is, because while my company follows Daylight Savings time, here on Saba we do not. Anyway, my brain was operating at a slightly slower pace, but I powered through. That evening, the age-old question of “where should we eat?” arose. After much deliberation, we landed at Brigadoon, followed by a fun visit to the Swinging Doors.

Tuesday was a cozy stay-at-home day. Samantha enjoyed the patio while I tackled work. In the evening, I stumbled upon a Facebook post from a former coworker who had become a jewelry maker. I reached out to say hello and suggested she check out the Jewel Cottage on Saba, as her style seemed like a perfect fit. It’s always great to connect with old friends and support local businesses!

Wednesday was all about Ladies’ Night! We started at Colibri, then ended up at Swinging Doors. I even met some tourists at Colibri and brought them along for the Swinging Doors fun.

Thursday, I took a half-day to explore the village and its lace-making scene. It wasn’t really my thing, but Samantha enjoyed it. I wandered off with Dave and gathered ingredients for my new Ninja Creami. Dave had apparently told half the island about my ice cream plans, so I had to deliver!

Friday the 13th lived up to its reputation. Work was a disaster, with every task requiring triple the effort. My computer behaved like it was running on hamster power. Thankfully, the evening brought some redemption. We headed to Colibri for Roots & Routes trivia. Despite my limited knowledge of the topic, our team managed to snag second place with some strategic wagering ala final jeopardy style. Our prize? Two pairs of awesome earrings made from 200-year-old hardwood from a demolished Saban house! We then met up with Dave at Swinging Doors to pick up ribs for dinner and enjoyed a relaxing evening at home.

Saturday started with breakfast at Tropics with Dave (Samantha opted to stay home). In the afternoon, Dave and Samantha met with a realtor to check out a house she was interested in. It sounds like it has great potential, so fingers crossed! While they were touring the property, I chilled at The Hideaway, and then we all met up for a pleasant afternoon chatting with locals.

The evening took a turn for the delightfully bizarre when I introduced Samantha to the cinematic masterpiece (or train wreck, depending on your perspective) that is *The Adventures of Pluto Nash*. It was her first viewing, and she actually enjoyed it! The rest of the evening was spent quietly at home, basking in the glow of campy B-movie glory.

That’s all for this week, folks! Stay tuned for more Saban adventures, ice cream experiments, and questionable movie choices. Until next time!
