Hey everyone, grab your coffee (with your *favorite* creamer, naturally) and settle in for another week in paradise (and the occasional trip back to reality).

Tuesday started with my usual coffee chat with Jenn, followed by a surprisingly productive workday. Seriously, I’ve worked some *terrible* jobs in my past, so I’m always grateful for a good work environment. To add a bit of fun to the day, it was the 9th birthday of Jamie’s horse, Andy! So, naturally, I used some fancy AI to make a picture of him talking. It was ridiculously cute, even if I do say so myself, and Jamie loved it, which is all that matters.

We also caught up with Jared, who’s been a lifesaver by checking on our house and grabbing the mail. Since his birthday was coming up, and he just moved into his own place, I sent him a countertop omelet maker via Amazon. Apparently, it can make pizza pockets too, so I’m pretty sure it’s going to get a lot of use. And since he lives in the USA, it was delivered THAT NIGHT. Talk about instant gratification!

Wednesday brought a rendezvous with Anise at Colibri, accompanied by pizza from Amonhana. We had a lovely chat, but Dave decided it was bedtime at the ungodly hour of 7:45 pm. Seriously, who goes home before 8? I’m counting down the days until I live in town and can escape the limitations of my personal chauffeur.

Thursday was a banner day! We officially put down the deposit on Daphne Cottage! Cue the confetti! We even managed to snag some pictures and videos later that day. I’m beyond excited to call this adorable cottage home in just a couple of months. Now, we just have to wait for the current tenant to vacate. Sixty days never felt so long!

In other exciting news, I had a productive meeting about transitioning from employee to independent contractor. We quickly reached a mutually beneficial agreement, and now it’s just a matter of signing the contract. One less thing to worry about!

To celebrate all the good news, we hit up Swinging Doors for cocktails and The Hideaway for dinner. There was a large diving group with reservations at The Hideaway, so we ate quickly and made our exit. Still, it was a perfect ending to a perfect day.

Friday was another productive workday. Dave only works until noon, and he has to be quiet while I’m working, so he headed into town for a drink and some company around 4 PM. He ended up staying out until 8 PM and walked home a bit tipsy. After work, I was enjoying the peace and quiet, so I encouraged him to stay out and have fun. I caught up with some friends while sipping Kahlua & Ponche Kuba, a delicious Caribbean rum cream liquor. Trust me, it makes a *very* tasty cocktail.

Saturday morning, Dave and Albus went on their hike to Juliana’s (Hermes was apparently sleeping on the job). Dave then went to work for a few hours, and picked me up around 3 PM to head to Colibri, where I learned how to make a bird out of a palm leaf! I was surprisingly proud of my creation.

After my artistic endeavor, we went to The Hideaway for Chef Steve’s going away party. I chatted with Darren & Norbert, and finally had the opportunity to get to know Norbert a little better. The evening was filled with good company, music, and island vibes. I even tried goat meat for the first time! It was surprisingly delicious. Apparently, it’s an island delicacy because there are just so many goats running around.

Sunday was a low-key day. I spent it working on my blog, watching movies, and perhaps indulging in a nap. I also checked in with some friends in the Northeast, who were bracing themselves for a Nor’easter.

And that, my friends, was all she wrote! Stay tuned for more adventures in the coming weeks. Who knows what excitement awaits?
