Hello, friends! It’s been a busy few days over here, filled with family, future planning, and the occasional pang of “OMG, this is really happening!” Let’s dive in, shall we?
Sunday afternoon was all about family. My stepdaughter and her husband came over to rummage through our belongings. They recently bought their first home (yay!), and we were thrilled to offload some of our treasures (aka, stuff we don’t want to move to a tiny island) to them. Hopefully, they found some gems!
Later, we treated them to dinner at The Painted Pony. It was my second outing of the weekend – I know, I’m practically a social butterfly these days! Besides good company, I spotted the *cutest* sunflower print on the wall. Seriously, that place just gets me. Once home, I promised myself I’d do my physical therapy exercises before bed. I even managed to do half… okay, maybe a *generous* half. But hey, progress is progress, right?

Monday, being my late start day at work, was a glorious mix of productivity and procrastination. I squeezed in some writing (like this!), dabbled in the bizarre world of AI image creation, caught up on my guilty pleasure (soapy TV, don’t judge!), and then the highlight of my morning: a visit from my amazing hairdresser, Cicily! She’s a true rock star with scissors, and I always end up feeling like a million bucks. Finally, I logged into work at 1 pm, and the day flew by. The evening was blessedly uneventful – just the way I like it sometimes.
Tuesday morning kicked off with physical therapy. My appointment was at 8:30 am, and I had to make a hard exit by 9:30 am to free Dave up for an important work thing. It’s honestly incredible how dedicated he is to his job, even with his impending departure and the less-than-ideal way things have been handled. But that’s just Dave – always going the extra mile.
Physical therapy itself was… well, physical. Eight minutes on the stationary bike, some stair climbing, and the ever-delightful manipulation and stretching of my ankles. You know, the usual torture.

Right as I logged off work, my mother-in-law, Janet, called, and we ended up chatting for ages. We don’t talk frequently, so there was a lot to catch up on, especially with the big news of our impending move.
In other exciting news, Southwest is offering non-stop flights from Orlando to Sint Maarten starting in the spring! This is incredibly useful information for my future travels. Dave is still patiently waiting for the written offer package from Saba, but we’re hoping it will arrive by the end of the week. He did break the news to his boss, and he’ll be tendering his resignation early next week, once he has a clearer picture of the timeline. Then, it’s full steam ahead!

Wednesday morning started with a shower after Dave left for work. Big mistake. My shoulder was protesting loudly by the time I was done. I’m seriously over having only one functional limb! I reached out to my friend, Laura, who just finished her last round of chemo, to see how she was doing, but we didn’t manage to connect. Sending her all the good vibes!
After my four hours of work, I caught up with Jason and then ordered dinner. It was Dave’s late work night, so I decided to DoorDash us some deliciousness from Uncommon Grill. Gotta take advantage of the conveniences while I still can, because there’s definitely no DoorDash in Saba. In fact, I’d be surprised if there was *any* food delivery, but time will tell. The evening was lovely, filled with good food and good company.
So, that’s the update from my little corner of the world. Stay tuned for more adventures (and probably more complaining about my shoulder) as we get closer to our big move!
There is delivery from the grocery stores! But, they are so close by it would be easier to walk over and get them yourself.
