Hello, blog readers! This week was a rollercoaster of minor inconveniences, logistical nightmares, and the occasional glimmer of hope. If you’re looking for a story of smooth sailing, you’ve come to the wrong place. But if you enjoy tales of resilience in the face of mild chaos, then grab a cup of coffee and settle in!

Let’s kick things off with a small victory. Remember my phone’s aquatic adventure? Well, after a day of drying, it miraculously sprang back to life! Huzzah! However, the good news was quickly followed by a dose of reality. Dave’s been chatting with our Saba connection about housing. Remember that dream house we wanted to rent until our Connecticut abode sells? Turns out the owner had some rough experiences with renters in the past and is hesitant to lease to us. Our helper is working her magic to try and negotiate, so fingers crossed!

Thursday… oh, Thursday. Picture this: torrential rain, a needy puppy, and yours truly stuck covering phones at work. Albus decided that a thirty-minute crying session was the best way to express his displeasure. Walks were fruitless (literally, he refused to do his business outside in the downpour). Eventually he peed outside, but then he waited until we were back inside to poop. Three times. Three. Times. Let’s just say I was feeling a tad cranky, and working overtime to avoid unleashing my inner dragon on innocent bystanders.

Thankfully, Samantha swooped in for a much-needed vent session later that evening. Sometimes, all you need is a good friend to listen to your woes and remind you that you’re not completely losing it.

Friday was a direct result of my foul mood, and the whole day was rather annoying, at least for me. The biggest bomb? My company decided they’d love to keep me on… as an independent contractor. Cue the logistical headache! More paperwork, more hoops to jump through. Plus, we’re still in limbo with Dave’s housing situation in Saba. The house still hasn’t been listed, and Dave’s being a bit vague with the details. I’m all for “handling it,” but everything that doesn’t get handled before he leaves falls squarely on my shoulders. I need a plan!

On a brighter note, Samantha popped over again, and we had a nice chat before I retreated to the comforting embrace of *General Hospital*. In soap opera news, the show was paying tribute to the late Leslie Charleton, who played Monica Quartermaine, a long time fixture on the show.

Saturday brought a change of scenery with a trip to a local apple fest. Navigating uneven ground is a bit of a challenge these days, so I took it slow and steady. Later, Samantha and I went dress shopping, and she found the perfect outfit for an upcoming shower. I also snagged an adorable *Nightmare Before Christmas* Zero toy for Albus. He was initially more interested in Samantha, but once she left, he was all about his new ghostly pal.

That night, one of Jared’s friends came over, and we ended up having a pleasant evening chatting outside. I finally got to put my stockpile of alcohol to good use!

Sunday was supposed to be “list the house” day, but our realtor had a family emergency, so that’s been pushed back a bit. On a more positive note, I chatted with both of my mother-in-laws and am looking forward to seeing Kim at our New Jersey going-away party next weekend.

Monday was uneventful, just biding my time until my tooth extraction. But Tuesday brought a twist! The dentist decided a filling would be a better option, and surprisingly, she was right! My tooth feels perfect again.

However, the real drama unfolded with a chat with Dave about the move to Saba. I’m not a fan of uncertainty, and right now, everything feels up in the air. No place to live, the house isn’t on the market, the job situation is complicated, Jason’s ticket for Albus hasn’t been purchased, and the downsizing process is moving at a snail’s pace. I feel like I’m going to be stuck selling everything after Dave leaves, and that thought is making me crazy!

Thankfully, Dave had some encouraging news. Our Saba helper is working on the housing situation, and we can store the shipping container in Miami if needed. Plus, I’m officially moving to Saba in early December, house sale or no house sale! That brought my stress level down a few notches.

So, there you have it – a week of minor victories, frustrating setbacks, and a whole lot of stress. But hey, at least my phone is working, my tooth is fixed, and I have a date for my move to Saba! Sometimes, you just have to focus on the small wins and keep moving forward.

Stay tuned for more updates as we navigate this crazy adventure! And feel free to share your own tales of logistical nightmares in the comments below – misery loves company!
